Pledge for Paws Dog Walk

Event Dates and Times

9/23/2017 - Starts: 12:00 PM - Ends: 3:00 PM
Flag Hill Pavilion-Irvine Park, 125 Bridgewater Avenue, Chippewa Falls, WI
Pledge for Paws is an annual fundraiser benefiting the Chippewa Humane Association, this one day event raises much needed funding for the non-profit animal shelter. 100% of the proceeds of the event go towards the shelter’s daily operations, ensuring that the doors are able to stay open, the lights stay on, and more importantly the animals are happy, healthy, and thriving.
This year will feature new and exciting additions to the event. Pledge for Paws is proud to announce that George House from “Today’s Best Variety” I-94 radio has generously agreed to be our special guest emcee this year, we’ll also be featuring the sounds of DJ entertainment provided by Spindrift Entertainment. As a special gift to our participants for joining us over the past 10 years, we’re offering free microchipping to the first 50 dogs to arrive at the walk! Every year an estimated 10 million dogs and cats are lost or stolen in the United States, microchipping substantially increases the likelihood of a pet returning home by offering secure, permanent, unique, and reliable identification. Thanks to a generous donation by Lost Dogs of Wisconsin we’re able to offer this protection at no cost to the owner.
Registration for this year’s event is now available, registration forms are available for pick-up at the Chippewa Humane Association shelter and Lake Wissota Animal Hospital in Chippewa Falls. Forms may also be downloaded from the Pledge for Paws website at www.pledge4paws.org. All participants who register during our “early bird” registration now through September 1st are guaranteed an event t-shirt, registration is available the day of the walk but t-shirts will be given out on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Robert Bruey - Singer, Songwriter, Fingerstyle Guitarist - CANCELLED

Event Dates and Times

9/23/2017 - Starts: 7:30 PM
Chippewa Valley Cultural Association, Inc./Heyde Center for the Arts, 3 South High Street, Chippewa Falls, WI, 54729
Singer-songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist Robert Bruey grew up in rural New England and lives on Long Island’s North Fork. Robert Bruey’s music is honest and real, raw and meaningful, gritty and naturalistic. His deft, spare and unique finger-picking style -- with notes carefully left alone to be heard in the moment -- provides a perfect complement for his earthy and soulful voice and the meaningful, introspective lyrics of his songs. As a musical artist, he paints with words -- imbuing his songs with imagery that enables listeners to visualize his stories as he sings them. Although he cites such diverse artists as Dave Matthews, Van Morrison, Waylon Jennings, Jackson Browne and Damien Rice as influences, Robert Bruey is his own muse blazing his own musical path – one that should lead him into listening rooms and living rooms far and wide. Admission: Adults $13, Seniors $12, Youth $6
“Robert Bruey’s beautiful music is a prime example of the universal mojo that can be conjured when such bare essentials as voice, guitar and lyric are unified by a master song-smith.”
