Gentle Yoga provides all the benefits of the yoga experience at a slower and steadier pace. It helps to reduce stress, feel strong yet flexible in your body and increase positive energy. This fall/winter session is led by Reserve member Karen Wise and will include instruction on how to do poses, breathing techniques and relaxation practice. Please dress in loose-fitting clothing, bring a yoga mat or blanket to lie on the floor and a water bottle.
Purchase a 10 punch card – Friends $80, Nonmembers $100. Punch cards will be given out at first class attended. 1 punch per class, receive 10 punches to earn a prize from BCR!

ECCT Auditions: "Annie"

The Eau Claire Children's Theatre will hold auditions for the upcoming production of ANNIE at ECCT, 1814 Oxford Avenue, Eau Claire.

Youth auditions will take place Sunday, September 24th from 1-4pm. Please call 715-839-8877 to schedule an audition time. Roles are available for 13 girls ages 8-12, including the role of Annie. Those interested should prepare a 30-60 second cutting from any Broadway or Disney song. You may use piano, CD or electronic device accompaniment. You may not sing a cappella.

Adult auditions will take place Monday, September 25th at 7pm. There are many chorus roles available for performers ages high school to adult. Those interested in a lead role including Daddy Warbucks, Miss Hannigan, Rooster Hannigan, Grace Farrell, and Lilly should prepare a 30-60 second cutting from any Broadway or Disney song. You may use piano, CD or electronic device accompaniment. You may not sing a cappella. Those interested in a chorus role may prepare an audition song or sing a familiar song like "Happy Birthday." There will be no dance audition.

Laura Fay from the Wisconsin Bureau of Consumer Protection will explain the different types of identity theft, how to recognize it and how to prevent it – including information about Fraud Alerts and Security Freezes.
Receive tips for safeguarding personal information and how to spot the red flags of a scam. You will also be given helpful brochures to take home with you.

“American School Girl” features a series of acrylic and mixed-media paintings that represents Sue Cranston’s version of childhood experiences for a young girl. It combines her memories of growing up in Wisconsin, her experiences teaching in the classroom, and her life as a daughter and mother. Exhibit may be viewed during regular library hours.

"Tuesdays with Morrie," Starring Jamie Farr of "Mash"

TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE is the autobiographical story of Mitch Albom, an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor. Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch happens to catch Morrie's appearance on a television news program and learns that his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig's Disease. Mitch is reunited with Morrie, and what starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a last class in the meaning of life.

Open House and Reception: Thursday, September 28 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. 
This exhibit is a retrospective of the artwork of Hugh Mandelert, which has been generously loaned to the Heyde Center from the private collections of community members. The theme of the exhibit “Art and Addiction” serves as a catalyst for a community exploration and a dialogue of chemical dependency issues in the Chippewa Valley, hopefully leading to second-chances. Hugh Mandelert’s status as a “favorite son” and a recovering alcoholic can help decrease the stigma our society puts on people with chemical dependency; foster conversations that are too often kept behind closed doors; lift up the power of compassion, relationship and community support; replace castigation with rehabilitation; and explore ways to help each other artfully move forward one step at a time. Participants in the Chippewa County Drug Court will be exhibiting their artwork in the galleries on the third floor. No cost for admission to the exhibit.
