"Coming Full Circle" A Piano Concert by Kate Lanzer

Date(s): 3/28/2015

7:30pm – 9:00pm

Heyde Cetner for the Arts, 3 South High Street, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729
Setting the stage for a musical journey, Kate Lanzer brings the audience through a fascinating cycle of character pieces by Schumann called Kreisleriana and a diverse selection of Preludes from Scriabin’s op. 11 set. Each of these collections are bound together by a circular design - the preludes through key relationships around the circle of 5ths and Kreisleriana through a curious literary design borrowed from E.T.A. Hoffman’s “double novel” entitled The Life and Opinions of the TomCat Murr together with a Fragmentary Biography of Kapellmeister Johannes Kreisler on Random Sheets of Waste Paper. Admission: adults $7, seniors $6, youth $3

"Healing Harmonies" Chippewa Valley Community Chorus Annual Concert

Date(s): 3/8/2015

2 pm

Heyde Cetner for the Arts, 3 South High Street, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729
This year’s theme “Healing Harmonies,” focuses on the wellness benefits that singing has on the singer and the listener. Music can be profoundly comforting to its listeners, including those with Alzheimer’s and dementia. There is no known cure for these diseases, but patients’ days can be made more enjoyable by using music therapy via personal listening devices loaded with the patient’s favorite music. At our March concerts, we will be accepting donations of new or gently used IPods, MP3 players, and other personal listening devices to be distributed to facilities who care for those with dementia. Admission: $7 adults, $6 seniors, $4 youth
