Dog Sledding and Snowshoeing at the Henke Farm

Date(s): 2/15/2014

1:00 - 3:00 pm

Beaver Creek Reserve, Wise Nature Center, S1 Cty Road K, Fall Creek, WI 54742
There is something magical about watching a string of dogs as they lunge and pull on their ropes while barking, yipping and yowling. Their one passion in life is to run a wintery trail and share that moment with you. Come out to our satellite property, the Henke Farm and join a group of fellow snow/dog loving enthusiasts. You can stay warm by the fire sipping a cup of hot chocolate and soup, or take a hike on snowshoes as you wait for a turn on the three-person dogsled.

Howard Thompson, our guide, has a sled that he will drive; two additional riders can choose to sit or stand. Bring your kids or grandkids to share a special winter moment or surprise your special someone with a post-Valentine's Day activity. We'll caravan from the Nature Center to the Henke Farm.

The View on Lake Wissota, 17779 Cty. Hwy. X, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with the first jump starting at 12:00 p.m. We ask that each jumper raise at least $50.00 to participate in the Polar Bear Plunge. For every $100 an individual raises, the jumper is entered in a grand prize drawing for a package for 2 to Granite Peak Ski Resort in Wausau (includes: 2 night hotel stay & skiing). There will also be a raffle at the event with a chance to win great prizes such as a Hisense 50” LED TV!

All proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Wisconsin. All proceeds will be used to provide professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships for children facing adversity in need of a positive adult role model in their lives in the Chippewa Valley area.
