4th Annual Sherman Star River Run

Eau Claire, WI | Owen Park 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM
The Sherman Star River Run is a self-timed 2 mile fun run/walk to benefit the students of Sherman Elementary School.

The course begins at Owen Park and runs along the scenic Chippewa River Trail to Phoenix Park. From there, participants will loop back along the trail back to Owen Park.

The Sherman Star River Run is held after sunset. For the safety of participants we do have volunteers stationed along the way. If at any time anyone has any safety concerns, they should immediately contact one of the volunteers or return to the Owen Park band shell.

For the safety of all participants, no pets please.

This is a rain-or-shine event. No refunds will be given.

Glow-in-the-Dark apparel, make up and accessories are encouraged! Each participant will receive a glow necklace as a part of their registration. Additional items may be purchased on-site for an additional fee.

All proceeds benefit Sherman Elementary School.

Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers 5k Run/Walk

West Salem High School, West Salem, WI Sunday, September 11 Run begins at 8:46 am (time the first plane hit the North Tower) Closing ceremony begins at 9:59 am (time the South Tower collapsed)
The Village of West Salem will be hosting a 5k run/walk to honor the firefighters and emergency response personnel who were present at the time of the World Trade Center attacks and to raise money for the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which works to provide smarthomes for injured service members. The event will also honor all former and active service men and women who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Human trafficking is the fastest growing crime on the planet. More than 27 million people are trapped in slavery world-wide. We can’t run from this problem…
But we can run FOR it!
Join us in Carson Park July 20 for the 9th annual Justice Run and Festival: a fun, family-friendly, fund-raising event for International Justice Mission (www.ijm.org) and Fierce Freedom (www.fiercefreedom.org), two anti-human trafficking organizations. Along with a 2- and 5-mile race and 1/2-mile kids’ race, there will be music, kids' activities, refreshments for purchase, information booths, and an art show and sale. Race registration fees will be donated to runner's choice: IJM or Fierce Freedom.
This year’s theme is Humankind: Be Human, Be Kind. Families are encouraged to attend together for an evening of fitness, increasing awareness, and expressing gratitude for the freedoms we often take for granted.On-site registration opens at 4:30. Pre-register online at www.cvjusticerun.org by July 5 to guarantee a race t-shirt. Pre-registration closes July 15.

The Nabor Days 5K Run/2 Mile Walk is a self-timed fun run/walk. The course will begin and end at the running track. Leader-Telegram Buckshot Run for Special Olympics

Join us for the 34th Annual Leader-Telegram Buckshot Run benefiting the local Special Olympics program. This 2 mile run/walk in beautiful Carson Park is ranked one of the top 10 races in Wisconsin. It’s family friendly and tough enough for the hard-core competitors. Ages 5-85 typically participate each year and average attendance for the Tuesday night race is 500 people. Help us grow this year’s event by inviting a family member or friend to join you!
100% of money raised from the race stays locally to help 1,000 Special Olympics athletes with intellectual disabilities train and compete in sports year-round. It’s a life changing opportunity for these kids and adults.
After the race, enjoy concessions, music, race results and an awards ceremony during the Party in the Park.
Check in begins at 4:30 p.m. and the race begins at 6 p.m. with awards following at 7 p.m.
For those who can’t attend Tuesday, join us for the main event Saturday, September 3.
Prices vary depending on date of registration.

Run With the Cops 5K for Special Olympics

You’ve heard of a ride along, but what about a run along? Join dozens of law enforcement officers for this 5k to benefit local Special Olympics athletes. Do you have what it takes to outrun the cops? Will there be “jail time” if you lose to a cop? This unique evening glow run follows a 5k run and 1 mile walk route on campus and through parts of downtown Eau Claire. There’s also a kids’ ¼ mile run. Registration includes a t-shirt and coffee and donuts at the finish line. Plus, a donut eating contest against the cops is guaranteed to be epic! Open to all community members, families, college students and anyone interested in supporting Special Olympics WI. Lights and sirens will lead the way and kids activities will include exploring a cop car, meeting the K9, getting an “official” police badge, and more. $25 for 5k and 1 mile walk. $15 for kids 1/4 mile.
