Timber Wolf Winter Ecology Workshop

Beaver Creek Reserve, Wise Nature Center, S1 County Road K, Fall Creek, WI 54742 January 31, 2015, 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and February 1, 2015, 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
The Timber Wolf Information Network (TWIN) will hold a two-day winter wolf ecology workshop at the Reserve. TWIN members discuss wolf ecology, population biology, management issues and field study techniques including a winter tracking field trip into wolf territory. Fee includes instruction and materials. Bring your own Saturday lunch and beverage. (Lodging is $13 per night, per person. Call the Reserve for additional lodging information.)

Snowshoeing has become a popular winter activity. Make your own snowshoes in this two-day workshop. Choose from three styles of snowshoes: Green Mountain bear paw (10” x 36”), Alaskan trail shoe (10” x 56”) or the great, all-purpose Ojibwa style (11” x 54”). All shoes are laced with tubular nylon, which is comfortable to work with, and have great strength when varnished. Bring to class: PATIENCE, bag lunch, tape measure, pencil, scissors and matches or lighter.
Registration and full payment required by December 15.

Verizon Wireless is offering a free technology workshop at the company’s Eau Claire store, located at 3755 Oakwood Mall Drive, on Wednesday, Aug. 17, from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. Reservations are required by registering online at www.verizonwireless.com/workshops. Seating is limited.

The workshop is geared toward helping customers get the most out of their advanced wireless devices by learning about new features and technologies, such as 4G LTE, explore useful data apps and offer an open forum to address questions.
