Gentle Yoga Classes

There is no better place than Beaver Creek Reserve to gather with others to practice yoga. The program will be led by BCR member Karen Wise. Reduce your stress, feel strong yet flexible in your body and benefit from centering your attention. The eight-week session will include instruction in how to do poses, breathing technique and relaxation. Please dress in loose clothing. Bring a yoga mat or blanket to lie on the floor.

ECCT Auditions: "Diary of a Worm, a Spider, and a Fly"

The Eau Claire Children's Theatre will hold auditions for the upcoming production of Diary of a Worm, a Spider and a Fly, March 9 & 10 at 5:30 p.m. at ECCT, 1814 Oxford Avenue, Eau Claire.
Those auditioning must prepare a one minute cutting from a Broadway or Disney musical. Those interested in a chorus role will be asked to sing a familiar song. Roles are available for three males and three females ages twelve to adult. Six school matinees and seven public performances are scheduled April 24 - May 3 at The Oxford.

Rubber Ducky Reading Club

Join the club! This enrichment opportunity is open to children ages birth to 5 years old during the whole month of March and is designed to promote early literacy. With the help of parents or caregivers, participants will complete worksheets consisting of 12 fun early literacy activities. When all twelve activities are complete, return the activity sheet to the Eau Claire YMCA service desk and choose an adorable little rubber ducky to keep! Keep going and see how many different ducks you can collect!

Wisconsin ArtsWest, an annual juried art exhibit, will open on Sunday, February 23, with an artists reception to be held on Thursday, February 27, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Best of Show and 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be announced at the reception. The program begins at 7:30 p.m. Selections for this year’s show are made by Elizabeth Tanenbaum, Director of New Visions Gallery in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Beauty of Spring Basket

This unique basket is named the beauty of spring because it is perfect to hold a bouquet of tulips. This basket starts on an oblong, wooden base with several rows of chase weaving. The sides are woven in a continuous twill weave. You can choose to weave your basket with straight sides or give it a little shape which the instructor will show you how to do.
Please bring the following supplies to class : bucket, pencil, sharp pointed scissors, ruler, towl and spray water bottle.
