A Pirate's Life for Me

Avast, ye scallywags! The Pirate League has taken over the Fitness Training Center and wants to recruit YOU to join their ranks! Boys & girls alike are invited aboard to try their luck as a boisterous buccaneer. After taking the pirate oath, pirate pledges will learn some sea shanties, go on a treasure hunt, enjoy tasty pirate goodies, make their own pirate hooks, and so much more!

Writer's Voice: Summer Series

A pen and paper are the ultimate asset (and weapon!), and we invite you to join us for the Writer's Voice: Summer Series and unleash your creativity! This workshop-type experience is perfect for both the new writer struggling to get their story down on paper and the experienced writer looking to improve their craft. We will explore different styles of writing, common writing "problems" such as writer's block (and how to avoid them!), what makes our favorite books so fun to read, and more. Come into the program with a story ready to get on paper or without a clue what you might want to write about - or somewhere in between! Together, we will transform the ideas in your head into full-on stories that will take on lives of their own!

Can You Dig It?

Come play in the dirt with us! In this program, participants will get their hands dirty through planting and caring for their own vegetable garden. Each week, there will be a new guest speaker present to share their experiences and expertise in a particular environmental field. We will cover topics such as composting, pollination, harvesting, canning, and more as we explore the entire growing process together. There will also be many fun activities and projects along the way, as well as tasty treats fresh from the garden to take home and try. In an effort to give back to the community, participants will also donate a portion of their harvest to local food banks and/or charities. Life's a garden...dig it!

Leader-Telegram Lil’ Buckshot Run Benefitting Special Olympics WI

Carson Park - Eau Claire, WI Registration: 5:30PM 2 Mile Race: 6:00PM
Join Special Olympics WI for the 32nd Annual Leader-Telegram Buckshot Run. This 2 Mile run/walk in and around beautiful Carson Park is ranked one of the top 10 races in Wisconsin. It’s family friendly yet tough enough for the hard-core competitors. Ages 5-85 typically participate. The Lil' Buckshot race is geared toward those who cannot participate in the larger 2 and 5 Mile race on Saturday, August 30, or for those who want to do both days.
Registration and check in for the Wednesday night event begins at 5:30 and the race starts at 6pm. Concessions, music and an awards ceremony will follow.
100% of money raised from the race stays locally to help 1,000 Special Olympics athletes with intellectual disabilities train and compete in sports year-round. It’s a life changing opportunity for these kids and adults.
The Leader-Telegram Buckshot Run is good ol' fashioned family fun. For details about Saturday's race, please check the calendar of events for Saturday, August 30.

Easter Egg Drop

South Middle School
Easter Egg Drop benefitting Trinity Lutheran Food Pantry. The bunny will be flown in on a helicopter, drop eggs on the fields at South Middle school where children are gather to watch and then gather the eggs!
