"A Valentine's Event" Romantic 1920s-1950s harmonies presented by the Vintage Vocal Trio TRISIS - "Wisconsin's Singing Sweethearts"

UWSP Dreyfus University Center - Theater (#110)
TRISIS, "Wisconsin's Singing Sweethearts", will be presenting 'A Valentine's Event' on Saturday, February 14th at 7:30 pm. The show, held at UWSP's DUC Theater, features romantic harmony styles popular from the 1920s-1950s. TRISIS is a tight sibling trio composed of three sisters accompanied by their father on jazz guitar. Since their debut in 2011 at the ages of 8, 11 and 15, these musical siblings have delighted listeners in nearly 300 shows throughout Wisconsin. TRISIS has mesmerized audiences from Lake Superior's Big Top Chautauqua to the Capitol Theater in Madison. Now, this premier vintage vocal group is poised to sing it's way into the hearts of people across the country. The sisters of TRISIS are excited to bring their show to your community as part of that journey.

Tickets, $14 general admission and $7 students/youth, are available through the Dreyfus University Center's box office: 715.346.4100 or tickets.uwsp.edu online. 'A Valentine's Event' is made possible, in part, by generous support from the UWSP College of Letters and Sciences and The Pineries Bank/ Paul C. and Patty Adamski.

"These girls - they call themselves TRISIS - are absolutely terrific! They do older stuff like the Lennon Sisters and the McGuire Sisters. They're good; really good!"
- Neal McCoy, multi-platinum recording artist / international country music star

"The next act, TRISIS, is a father and three daughters. We had the pleasure of hearing them at sound check. It is a lovely, lovely act and we know you are in for a real treat."
- Michael Perry, New York Times best-selling author and radio host

Hearts in Harmony 6

Heyde Center for the Arts, 3 South High Street, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729
This is the sixth annual event highlighting the amazing harmonies of barbershop quartets from throughout the Chippewa Valley. In the last half of the 19th century, U.S. barbershops often served as community centers where men would gather to sing unaccompanied spirituals, folk songs and popular songs in four-part close harmony while waiting their turn. Today there are more than 30,000 male quartet singers, and an equal number of women. A bonanza afternoon for barbershop quartet fans! Admission: adults $9, seniors $8, youth $4 (18 and under)
