5K Fun Run/Walk to benefit Ronald McDonald House!

Millyard Park, Cornell WI
For the last 4 years, this being the 5th, during the Cornell Community Fair, I have hosted a 5K Fun Run/Walk to benefit a great local cause!

This year, the proceeds will hit home. Our youngest son, at 6 months old was diagnosed with Sagittal Cranial Synopsis, which is a 1 in 5,000 case. The suture behind his soft spot was fused shut going toward the back plate of the head. After getting several opinions; he under went Cranial Reconstruction Surgery at Minneapolis Children's Hospital in Minnesota on October 15, 2015. To say this was a nightmare, would be an understatement. When they took him from my hands I collapsed & lost control of myself.

We had a great referal to a specific doctor. AFTER he was in surgery, we found out we were put into the hands of a man who has been featured in MD Magazine over 20 times for Top 10 Doctor's! Dr. Najib is right at the top of the BEST neuro surgeons, period. Our minds were a little relieved.

After nearly 5 months post surgery, he is recovering well & his hair is growing! Since this, I will NEVER take children for granted, as we could have lost ours that day. Kiss & hold them when ever you get the opportunity to, no matter how busy you are!

This year, proceeds will go directly to the Ronald McDonald House located within Minneapolis Children's Hospitals & Clinics building! Chris & I had to take off a week of unpaid work when this arised. Honestly, without the help of the Ronald McDonald House, we would not have been able to afford to eat 3 meals a day at between $20 & $25 each. We thank this charity over & over for their smiles, kind words, & volunteers who made tasty food for all who walked through those doors!

IT'S TIME TO GIVE BACK!!! I hope none of you have to use them, but if you do, know that charitable acts is what keeps the doors open to those in need.

5K Fun Run/Walk to benefit Ronald McDonald House, kick off on June 18th @ 10:30am, Millyard Park in Cornell WI on Hwy 64 & Park Rd!

$20 registration for adults. Children 10 & under are $15. Cost includes a t-shirt!
