The Healing Place offers Suicide Survivor Share Group
The Healing Place, 1010 Oakridge Drive, Eau Claire
The loss of someone to suicide is an extremely devastating experience for anyone to face. The Healing Place, Sacred Heart Hospital’s grief support and holistic healing center, offers its guidance by hosting a Suicide Survivor Share Group on six consecutive Wednesdays, from April 23 to May 21. The group will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Healing Place, 1010 Oakridge Drive, Eau Claire.
The group is open to anyone who has been touched by Suicide. Contents from the book, “Understanding Your Suicide Grief; Ten Essential Touchstones for Finding Hope and Healing Your Heart” by Alan Wolfelt, will be highlighted for discussion. Paperbacks of the book are available through Amazon.com, or if you’d like The Healing Place staff to order a book for you, please request a book when you register.

Tuesday Morning Spouse Loss Support Group
The Healing Place, 1010 Oakridge Drive in Eau Claire
The death of a spouse or life partner is difficult to handle. If you are struggling to cope with the loss of your loved one and worried about facing the future without your partner, Sacred Heart Hospital encourages you to attend its Spouse Loss Group at The Healing Place, the hospital’s grief support and holistic healing center. The group will meet for eight consecutive Tuesday mornings, April 8 through June 3, from 10:30 a.m. to Noon at The Healing Place, 1010 Oakridge Drive in Eau Claire.
These short-term groups are free and open to anyone whose spouse or life partner has died. Topics include: Managing the emotions of grief, understanding the journey through grief, dealing with holidays and special days, finding my new “normal”, the gift of memories, and caring for myself while in the midst of change.

Living Again Cancer Support Group

This support group offers fun and educational activities to help patients and survivors learn how to handle everyday life during and after treatment. This month’s activities include making a cancer journey bracelet and low-impact yoga. The group meets from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Nov. 13 and 20, at Mayo Clinic Health System, 1221 Whipple St., Eau Claire. This is a free service. This group is intended for patients, caregivers and family members involved with or interested in multiple myeloma. Participants can share information and experiences regarding understanding of the disease and treatment. Mild Brain Injury Support Group

This support group is designed for people with mild traumatic brain injuries from accidents, falls, tumors, etc., and their family and friends. The group provides individuals the opportunity to obtain information on brain injury symptoms, listen to guest speakers and talk with other persons with brain injuries and health care professionals. The group also promotes brain injury prevention and community awareness. The meeting is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in the lower level Deli at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, 1400 Bellinger St. This is a free service. Stroke Support Group
The Center for Healthy Living, 2103 Heights Drive, Eau Claire
This group is for stroke survivors, families and friends. The group will provide occasional guest speakers, educational information regarding current stroke news, available resources within the community and social opportunities. Members will share their experiences, successes, problems and concerns about a stroke, and how the individual and family have coped with it.
