ECCT Presents: "Mary Poppins"

The Eau Claire Children’s Theatre will present MARY POPPINS March 5-8, at the State Theatre in downtown Eau Claire.

In the troubled Banks family, young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must help the family learn how to value each other again. Filled with timeless classics such as the Academy Award-winning “Chim-Chim Cher-ee,” Mary Poppins can only be described as “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!”

Performances are scheduled for Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 7 at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, March 8 at 1:30 p.m. Reserved seating tickets are $20 for adults, $16 for seniors, $12 for students, and $8 for youth ages 12 and under.

Area Community Theatre Presents "FOOLS" by Neil Simon

Area Community Theatre 907 Kilbourn Ave. Tomah, WI February 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28 at 7:30 p.m. February 15, 22, March 1 at 2:00 p.m.
Area Community Theatre director, Steve Jones, has started production on the theatre’s February comedy production of “Fools” by Neil Simon. Jones urges audience members to come prepared to laugh as they arrive with teacher, Leon Tolchinsky (Richard Kling), in a tiny village in the Ukraine that has been cursed for the last 200 years with “Chronic Stupidity”. He meets his employers, Dr. Zubritsky (Gary Frei) and Lenya Zubritsky (Alecia Miller) and immediately falls in love with his beautiful pupil, Sophia (Allison Jacob). Snetsky (Roger Jones), Slovitch (Debbi Roth), Yenchna (Amber Porter), Mishkin (Jordan Wehrs), the Magistrate (Wayne Kling), and Count Gregor (Brad Linberg) complete the colorful cast of characters as Leon attempts to break the curse by educating Sophia. Will he be able to do it before he, too, falls victim to the curse?

Jesus Christ Superstar - Auditions

The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild, - The Grand Theatre - 102 W. Grand Avenue, Eau Claire
Auditions for the musical Jesus Christ Superstar will be held at 7p.m. March 2nd and 3rd at The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild, 102 W. Grand Avenue, Eau Claire. The ground-breaking rock opera by powerhouse duo Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice tells the powerful story of the last days of Jesus through a stirring score featuring some of the best music ever written.

Roles are available for two male leads, one lead female and five supporting males, as well as a large ensemble of men and women, ages 14 and up (with a cast size reaching 50). There are also several solos throughout the show. Most cast members will be required to sing; however, not all will need to dance. Ensemble will include singers, dancers, and those who are both.

Please come prepared to sing a cutting from a Broadway or rock song of your choice, along with your sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Dress comfortably to learn a short dance routine. Rehearsals will begin March 9th with performances April 23rd-26th at the State Theatre.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - AUDITIONS

Auditions for the Broadway musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be held at 7p.m. April 27 - 29 at The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild, 102 W. Grand Avenue, Eau Claire. Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice bring the Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors vibrantly to life in this popular musical.

On April 27th, auditions will be held for kids and families (ages 8 and up). On April 28th, auditions will be held for adults and on April 29th, for anyone who was unable to attend the previous nights. Fantastic roles are available for men and women with an adult chorus and children’s chorus. There are several solos throughout the show. All cast members will be required to sing.

Please come prepared to sing a cutting from a Broadway along with your sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Dress comfortably to learn a short dance routine. Rehearsals will begin May 11th with performances June 25-28 at the State Theatre.

ECCT Presents "Disney's The Aristocats Kids"

Children participating in the Eau Claire Children’s Theatre’s Celebrate Summer with a Show class will present DISNEY’S THE ARISTOCATS KIDS on Thursday, June 21, and Friday, June 22, at The Oxford, 1814 Oxford Avenue, Eau Claire.

DISNEY’S ARISTOCATS KIDS is a musical is based on the classic Disney movie. When Madame’s jealous butler Edgar cat-naps Duchess and her kittens and abandons them in the Parisian countryside, what’s a cat to do? Luckily, Thomas O’Malley and his rag-tag bunch of Alley Cats come to their rescue.

Five performances are planned. On Thursday, June 21, shows are scheduled at 10:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. On Friday, two performances are planned for 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

General admission tickets are $5.00 each and will be available at the door.

The show is the first of three “By Kids, For Kids” productions scheduled this summer. The other shows planned are THE JUST SO STORIES on July 19-20 and HEE HAW HAYRIDE on August 4.
