ECCT Presents: "Sideways Stories from Wayside School"

The Oxford, 1814 Oxford Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54703
The Eau Claire Children’s Theatre will present SIDEWAYS STORIES FROM WAYSIDE SCHOOL October 3-5 and 10-11, at The Oxford, 1814 Oxford Avenue, Eau Claire.
The Wayside School was supposed to be one story high, with thirty classrooms side by side. Instead, it was built sideways, with thirty one-classroom stories. (The builder said he was sorry!) Maybe that’s why all kinds of unusual things happen at Wayside during this hilarious play based on Louis Sachar’s popular book.

Performances are scheduled for Friday, October 3 and 10, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, October 4 and 11, at 1:30 p.m.; and Sunday, October 5 at 1:30pm. Reserved seating tickets are $8 for youth/students and $12 for seniors/adults, and may be purchased online at, by calling 715-839-8877, or at the door.

SIDEWAYS STORIES is sponsored by Family Times Newspaper as well as our 2014-2015 season sponsor, Kristo Orthodontics.

Young Frankenstein, officially known as The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein, is a musical with a book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan and music and lyrics by Brooks. It is based on the 1974 comedy film of the same name written by Brooks and Gene Wilder and directed by Brooks, who has described it as his best film.

It is a parody of the horror film genre, especially the 1931 Universal Pictures adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and its 1939 sequel, Son of Frankenstein.
