The Western Dairyland Women’s Business Center will host a Women’s Business Network meeting on Budgeting with Christopher Brooke on Thursday, October 11th. The meeting is free to attend and will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at the Western Dairyland Community Action Agency, 418 Wisconsin St., Eau Claire.

For individuals interested in starting their own businesses, business budgeting begins with first establishing a household budget and identifying the necessary income to maintain the current status of living. This class will cover creating a budget, budgeting guideline percentages, cutting costs and conducting a financial fire drill.

Christopher Brooke is a Business Banker with Associated Bank in Eau Claire. Christopher has been helping individuals and businesses in the Chippewa Valley for 11 years meet their personal and business financial goals at Associated Bank. Christopher serves on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Northwestern Wisconsin and Senior Citizens Employment and Training where he is treasurer. In addition, he serves on the Real Life Academy Committee which is a partnership with several schools in the Chippewa Valley and Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce.

Women’s Business Network meetings are free and open to the public. They take place over the lunch hour on the second Thursday of each month. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bag lunch and plenty of business cards. The goal of the meetings is to facilitate networking relationships among women business owners, allowing them to expand their small business knowledge. The structure of the meetings will allow participants to learn from an expert in the field and from each other’s shared experiences.
