The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has closed State Highway 35 between Country Road E and Country Road QQ until further notice. The Pierce County Sheriff's Department says the reason is a concern over the safety and structure of the Big River Bridge.
The concerns were raised after the recent heavy rain and high water. The Department of Transportation and the Pierce County Highway Department are currently taking measures to make repairs.
The road will be closed until DOT officials and Pierce County Highway offices determine the bridge is safe.
The traffic detour will use County Road QQ, Highway 10 and Country Road E. The detour will be marked.
