Late season winter storm leaves mark on Western Wisconsin

Snow showers have ended, but the impacts of this late season winter storm remain. The heaviest snow was, as expected, in our northern counties. Our far northern counties were the bullseye with reports of almost 10"!

Here is a look at our forecasted snow map:

Reports are still coming in, but as expected, there was a huge range in the snowfall totals thanks to the precipitation starting out as rain last night in the Coulee Region lasting into early this morning. This kept totals in our southern counties much lower than the northern portion of the viewing area that saw all snow.

Some totals so far:
9.7" Spooner
9.0" Hayward
7.5" Sarona
4.5" Cumberland
3.5" East Farmington
3.2" Butternut
3.0" Cameron
2.8" Bruce
2.5" Seeley
2.0" Phillips
1.7" Tunnel City
1.2" Ellsworth
1.0" Burr Oak
0.9" Owen
0.8" Elk Mound
0.6" West Salem
0.4" Viroqua

Blowing snow may become a concern this afternoon as winds increase. Expect gusts out of the northwest as high as 30 mph as the storm pulls away.
