Minor earthquake rumbles SE Wis

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) -- A minor earthquake rumbled through southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.

Seismologists with the U.S. Geological Survey say the 2.4 magnitude quake happened just before 10 p.m. Monday and was centered about 30 miles from Kenosha, just east of McHenry, Ill.

Several police departments in the area got calls from people who felt the quake. But no one reported any damage or injuries.

The USGS estimates 1.3 million quakes with magnitudes between 2.0 and 2.9 occur each year.
