NEWS RELEASE FROM CITY OF EAU CLAIRE:
Beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20th, traffic will be changed from one-way to two-way on S. Barstow Street and Graham Avenue between Eau Claire Street and Washington Street.
The section of Eau Claire Street between Graham Avenue and S. Barstow Street will also be converted to two-way traffic.
Drivers should pay particular attention to the operational changes at the signals on Lake Street, the four-way stop sign at the intersection of S. Barstow Street and Eau Claire Street instead of a traffic signal, and the intersections along Washington Street at S. Barstow Street and Graham Avenue.
Motorists are encouraged to observe the new pavement markings showing the road centerline dividing the two-way traffic lanes and to use caution as drivers become familiar with the
transition to two-way traffic.
New loading zones have been designated that will be active between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. After 11:00 a.m., the loading zones will convert back to normal two-hour parking
areas open to the general public.

Eau Claire, Wis. (WEAU) - Rain showers moved out early enough on Monday to not delay the opening of two-way traffic on S. Barstow Street and Graham Avenue.
Eau Claire Traffic Engineer Ross Sptiz says the rain moved out early enough where crews will be able to complete the lane markings by the end of Monday. There was fear earlier in the day they would have to postpone the lane markings. That could have been a scheduling mess due since crew were only scheduled for Monday and would have to leave the area for other jobs in the state on Tuesday.
More work will continue. He says crews will continue the next couple of days adjusting signs on both roads from Eau Claire Street to Washington. The good news means that the launch of two-way traffic should go on as scheduled on Thursday, September 20th.
Eau Claire, Wis. (WEAU) - Rain showers on Monday threatened to delay opening of two-way traffic on some downtown Eau Claire streets later in the week.
