LA CROSSE (WEAU) - As temperatures rise, so are spring sales. Winter gear is getting packed away or put on super sale in most stores.

Winter coats are on sale, and swimsuits are out in full swing.

“I love it! I’m already putting all my winter clothes in a box. I’m excited to wear my shorts,” said Sheng Lo, a shopper at the mall.

Winter sales may have slumped, but spring sales are booming.

“Traffic has increased in footwear, spring sports, even paddle boats are starting up early," said Manager of MC Sports, Brooke Hall.

Winter items won’t be out much longer.

“Next week you won’t see any more winter items. We’re going to have all bikes, boats, life vests, and swimsuits," said Hall.

Business is good for grilling and golf courses.

“We’ve been steady every day and every afternoon. We can put a little bit of money in the bank as we start the season," said General Manager of Forest Hills Golf Course, Keith Stoll.

Cafe's are even opening up their outside patio’s a month early, and hopefully the nice weather will last.

“I think it’s going to cool down between now and Easter, but I think it’s here for the long term," said Gardener, Mel Alsobrooks.

“Is the nice weather going to stay nice like this? I hope so, but I wouldn’t bet money on it," said professional griller Josh Pogreba.
