July was a hot and humid month not only in Wi, but across much of the country. Most locations seeing temperatures 5 to 7 degrees above normal. A ridge of high pressure, sunny skies and a warm southerly flow started in early July, and didn't change for weeks. Anytime you break a record from 1936, it is something to talk about.

It was the 2nd warmest July on record for the Twin Cities (since 1873), the 5th warmest for St. Cloud (since 1893), and the 2nd warmest in Eau Claire 76.9 (since 1950).

A cool down is expect on Sunday, but once again, other warming trend is on the way by early next week(August 6th).
