The Annular Solar Eclipse is Sunday, and if you miss the eclipse, you’ll be waiting until October 14, 2023 to catch the next one. A solar eclipse will block out most of the sun, leaving a spectacular "ring of fire" shining in the sky for observers located along the eclipse's path. Some good news/bad news for Western Wisconsin only a partial solar eclipse is expected. The East Coast will miss the entire event. Western Texas, through the deserts on New Mexico, and Northern California will have the best chance of seeing the full eclipse. Warning even during a partial eclipse: Never look directly at the sun, either with the naked eye or through telescopes or binoculars without the proper filters. And if you snap any good eclipse photos fell free to email them to Mark.Holley@weau.com.
