Mother's Day
Last Updated: 10:59 AM 05/09/08 - The first Mother's Day in the United States was celebrated in Grafton, West Virginia, on 10 May 1908. In 1914 President Woodrow Wilson declared the first national Mother's Day, as a day for American citizens to show the flag in honor of those mothers whose sons had died in war. According to the National Restaurant Association, Mother's Day is now the most popular day of the year to dine out at a restaurant in the United States. My advice is not to forget Mother’s Day.

Turkey Hunting and 70 degrees.
Last Updated: 11:19 AM 04/17/08 - On Wednesday the Chippewa Valley hit 71 degrees, but because of cloud cover and a very strong south wind it didn’t have the same spring feel as a 65 degree day with mostly sunny skies and no wind. The last time the Chippewa Valley was in the 70’s, occurred on October 30th. The 70’s might have a chance early next week, but seasonal temperatures highs in the mid 50’s and lows in the lower 30’s will return.
