Last summer the Chippewa Valley was in a drought situation, precipitation totals were well below average and soil moisture was very low. Since January 1st the Chippewa Valley has received 7.49 inches of precipitation which is 0.77inches above normal. Therefore most would agree our soil moisture has been replenished.
If you look around the local farm fields hardly any crops have been planted unless you lucky enough to have high or sandy ground. The fields are too wet and it has been too cold. Farmers are already behind schedule and need a few dry and warm days. Monday through Wednesday will be in the lower 60, but yet again more rain chances on Thursday are possible.
