As projected Sunday afternoon was rather sunny and warmer, with highs making it into the upper 60s. It was also on the windy side, with winds gusting around 30 mph during portions of the day. Monday looks to be very similar temperature-wise, with highs expected to be in the upper 60s. We'll see mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies early on, however, the clouds will be increasing as we head into the afternoon hours. There is also a chance we will see some overnight showers/storms, lasting into Tuesday morning.
Tuesday afternoon looks to be rather interesting. I've been keeping my eye on chances for severe weather in Western Wisconsin since last week Wednesday, and it still does look like those severe weather chances will come to fruition. As of now, the greatest threat of severe weather looks to be around La Crosse and southwest towards Iowa. The dynamics for severe weather possibilities will extend into the Chippewa Valley. The issue is whether sufficient gulf moisture will be able to make it this far north, and at this point, the La Crosse area seems to be the cut-off point for said moisture. If you have any outdoor activities planned for Tuesday, be sure to tune in and keep an eye to the sky.
