Isaac Frenette reflects on last years success and his hockey future
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Last year the Chippewa Falls Cardinals hockey team made a fantastic run to the state tournament, led by the Isaac brothers. Isaac Frenette led the cards in points with 28 goals and 25 assists and Isaac Lindstrom right behind him with 31 goals and 20 assists.
“We blended so good together we just knew where we were going to be constantly and we have been playing with each other for the last ten years so we knew and we like each other a lot, I think that’s the best thing, we have such a good relationship,” said Frenette.
That relationship will stay close, but it will no longer be on the ice. Lindstrom has graduated, but Frenette still believes state in 2021 is attainable once again.
“Well I think we have such a deep team this coming year, we have the junior class coming in, they are very good at scoring, they’re a dominant age group for sure and the seniors this year, they’re ready to go, they’ve been putting a lot of work in.”
After high school, Isaac has plans to continue you his career by playing junior hockey but even though he was the leading scorer on a team that made the state tournament, he is still looking for a team to give him that chance.
“I’ll have a lot of opportunity this year and I’ll have to make the best effort on every opportunity I get so I don’t know I’m excited to get opportunities like that, I’m nervous though because I definitely want to move on.”
Isaac plans on trying out for the Chippewa Steel after the season but is open to all options.
