EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -A man linked to a recent shooting incident is now charged with fraud and forgery.

The complaint was filed Tuesday in Eau Claire County court for Kyle Baker, 22.

It says Baker opened a checking account with a local bank in April. In May, it says he deposited five bad checks, totaling $10,000, then, withdrew the money.

In early June, Baker was arrested and charged in a shooting on Eau Claire's north side.

In that case, a witness told the Eau Claire Police Department he was shot by Baker during an argument.

Baker is being held in the Chippewa County jail on the shooting case on a $50,000 dollar cash bond.

A preliminary hearing on the forgery case is scheduled for July 14.
