Man arrested after police pursuit in Marshfield

MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WEAU) - The Marshfield Police Department located a vehicle Sunday morning that was involved in a recent vehicle pursuit with the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department.

According to The Marshfield Police Department, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle around 10:44 a.m. near E Veterans Pkwy and Heritage Dr when it failed to stop and a pursuit ensued for about 8.2 miles through the City of Marshfield reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph.

The report says officers were finally able to stop the vehicle using a tire deflation device. Police say a 29-year-old male driver was arrested and taken to Wood County Jail. Charges are being referred to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

The driver has not been identified.
