LAKE HALLIE, Wis. (WEAU) - UPDATE: The Chippewa Fire District responded to a fire just before 5 p.m. at the Red Zone Sports Bar on South Prairie View Road in the Village of Lake Hallie.

John Andersen with Chippewa Fire District says first arriving units saw heavy fire coming from the junction of the facade and the building.

Crews extinguished the roof fire then went inside. The fire did not enter the building itself. Fire damage was confined to the roof and the front facade, there was no interior building damage.

A passerby alerted people in the building about the fire.

The building was previously known for Mexican food under the name of Poncho’s Place for many years.

All four stations of the Chippewa Fire District responded; there were 35 firefighters on scene. The fire is under investigation and is not considered suspicious. There is no damage estimate currently available.
