MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) - Gov. Evers opened the update by urging people to vote safely and on time.

The state now has 186,100 positive cases, which is an increase of 3,413 over Wednesday

Wisconsin’s seven day average is now at 3,396 but one month ago it was at 1,838.

1,703 deaths, 22 over Wednesday

Officials say they will be adding more contact tracers soon and they are still very useful as the cases in the state continue to rise. They said we should be relying on contact tracers but rather focusing on mitigation strategies.

Gov. Tony Evers, alongside the Wisconsin DHS, is scheduled to hold a COVID-19 update at 1:30 p.m.
