UPDATE: Gov. Evers gives a COVID-19 update

MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) - Gov. Tony Evers opened the COVID-19 update saying that DHS reported many new hospitalizations. Adding that the virus will not take a break during the holiday season and winter months.
WI STATE DATA:
4,078 new positive cases for total of 391,313 cases
Hospitals are still critically strained
107 new deaths, for a total of 3,420
Health officials are urging people who attended gatherings over the holiday weekend, to get tested if any symptoms appear.
When asked about the state having its own stimulus package, Evers said this virus is a federal issue and not a state issue. He said that it is too early to say that the state would or wouldn’t be able to do something like that.
