Chippewa Valley Technical College cancels classes due to “network outage”
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Chippewa Valley Technical College is taking a huge hit this week as it experiences what it’s calling a “system-wide network disruption.”
WEAU attempted several times to speak with a representative of the college, but were told no one was available today.
Instead, CVTC sent a statement saying the disruption has affected many services at the college including its website, e-mail, phones, and system access. The disruption has led to the postponement of some winter term classes and the closure of campus buildings for the remainder of the week.
The statement also says that right now there is no indication that any data, including personal or financial student or employee information, has been impacted. CVTC’s internal technology team is working on the disruption, but did not say what may have caused it.
CVTC says with spring semester starting Monday, it will be flexible with students and work with them on any needs the technical school was unable to address this week.
The Chippewa Valley Technical College has canceled all classes until Jan. 22 due to what they are identifying as a “network outage”.
The outage is affecting phones, emails and websites as well as it has closed all campus buildings.
WEAU is following up on this story.
