UPDATE: Gov. Evers gives a COVID-19 update

MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) - Gov. Tony Evers opened the COVID-19 update with reminding that 65+ residents can receive the vaccine starting Monday but also says that is a very large group of people in this state.
Those 65+ are asked to connect with their primary care doctor or the WI DHS for more information on vaccinations in their area.
Evers also thanked Andrea Palm and congratulated her on her new role on the Biden team.
The state had the single largest vaccination day this week.
51,893 second doses given
2,177 new cases, total up to 528,101
Seven day average of new cases is currently at 1,731
45 new deaths, this brings the total to 5,607
Gov. Tony Evers is scheduled to give a COVID-19 update at 1:30 p.m.
