Small plane makes emergency landing in Adams Co.
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A small, private plane made an emergency landing near an Adams Co. highway on Wednesday afternoon after experiencing engine trouble while flying through the Wisconsin Dells.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, two military aircraft that were in the area first spotted the plane on the ground near the State Hwy. 23 and 5th Ave. intersection, in the Township of New Haven, and reported to the Sheriff’s Office shortly after 4 p.m.
Investigators determined the plane had been flying through the Wisconsin Dells. The pilot detected signs of engine failure and put the plane down in the field. The pilot was not hurt in the incident and the Sheriff’s Office reported no property was damaged.
Adams Co. Sheriff Brent York offered his special thanks to the pilot who initially reported the downed plane immediately upon spotting it.
Their investigation remains ongoing.
