LAKE HALLIE. Wis. (WEAU) - Three people are in custody following a traffic stop in Lake Hallie.
According to the Lake Hallie Police Department, on Sept. 15, 2023, at around 6:40 p.m., the Lake Hallie Police Department says an officer stopped a vehicle for a suspended registration due to unpaid parking tickets. The driver of the vehicle identified herself 30-year-old Rebecca Weinberg.
There were two passengers in the vehicle, 32-year-old Christopher Wurtz of Eau Claire, and someone who gave a fake name. The officer learned Weinberg and Wurtz had active warrants related to drug activity, and both were taken into custody. The other passenger changed his name while talking to officers and was taken in for obstructing an officer. He was later identified as 50-year-old Terry Gauger of Chippewa Falls, who also had active warrants for drug activity.
All three were taken to the Chippewa County Jail.
