Revamped ‘The Oregon Trail’ game now available on PS4 and PS5

(Gray News) – The revamped version of “The Oregon Trail” game is now available on PlayStation 4 and 5.

The classic educational game has been redeveloped and published by video game company Gameloft a few times for various platforms.

On Feb. 9, the game was released on PlayStation 4 and 5.

Prior to that, the new version of the game was made available on Apple Arcade in 2021, for Nintendo Switch and Windows in 2022, and for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in 2023.

The Entertainment Software Rating Board has rated it E, for Everyone, for Mild Violence.

The first version of “The Oregon Trail” game was developed in 1971 and produced in 1974.

The game has been a staple in schools since its development, teaching students about the realities of 19th-century pioneer life.

Users role play as pioneers traveling along the Oregon Trail in a covered wagon in 1848. Along the way, they face hardships and even death. The goal of the game is to survive the trail and make it to a new settlement.
