Stout’s run ends in the Final Four against NYU

SALEM, VA. (WEAU) - UW-Stout’s most successful women’s basketball season came to an end in the Final Four, as the Blue Devils fell to NYU 74-55.

Raegan Sorenson left it all on the floor in her final game of the season, leading the Blue Devils with 29-points on 14 of 26 shooting. Amanda Giesen added 11-points.

NYU opened up their lead in the second quarter, outscoring Stout 19-7 in the period to lead 41-20 at the half.

The Violets were led in scoring by Belle Pellecchia who had 22-points. Natalie Bruns had 19 and Caroline Peper 17.

NYU is the defending Division 3 National Champions, and improve their record to 30-0 this season.

The Final Four appearance is the farthest any UW-Stout women’s basketball team has ever advanced. The Blue Devils made it to the Sweet 16 last year.

Stout wraps up the 2024-25 season with a 23-8 record.
