WEAU honored with 14 Wisconsin Broadcasters Association awards

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - WEAU was honored with 14 Wisconsin Broadcasters Association awards this weekend.

First Alert Chief Meteorologist Darren Maier received a First Place for Best Weather Coverage.

WEAU Television was awarded First Place for Best Significant Community Impact. We also were recognized for our coverage of the Healthcare Crisis with a First Place award for Best Continuing Coverage.

WEAU’S Creative Service team was honored with a First Place Award for Sierra Wojtysiak for her Best Election Promo: Political Spotlight in Eau Claire as well as a team First Place for Best Use of Social Media.

WEAU also received 3 Second Place awards including Best Sportscast (Justus Cleveland), Best Sports Reporting (Philip Choroser: Snocross Amputee) and Best Specialty Programming for Healthcare Town Hall.

The WBA awarded us 6 Third Place awards including Derrek Dalman for Best Online Personality and the web team for Best Website.

The Wisconsin Broadcasters Awards were presented this Saturday night at the Madison Marriott West. WEAU competes in the Small Market category.
