First Alert Weather: Snow showers this weekend followed by bitter cold
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - We’re saying a brief goodbye to snow showers today as the low-pressure system that has been nearby will finally slide out of the Great Lakes Region later today. Some areas picked up some good snowfall, and while we don’t have any reports from late last night through this morning, here’s a look at some reports from Friday evening.
It’ll be a cold weekend to be outdoors, but it’ll be the warmest it’s going to be over the next few days. Daytime highs will be in the teens both today and Sunday. Wind chills could feel like the single digits with breezy northwesterly winds having a hold on us. Snow chances do make a return Sunday morning with another clipper system to our north. Amounts look to be very light, up to about 2 inches at the most. It’ll be all about the cold behind this system as temperatures and wind chills will plummet Sunday night and Monday.
Monday is a First Alert Weather Day for the dangerous cold. If you need to fill up on gas, or get your car battery checked, this weekend would be the best time to do that before it gets cold!
