Viterbo University welcomes back students during move-in day

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) - Viterbo University welcomed new faces to campus today as incoming freshmen and transfer students moved into their on-campus housing.

Dozens of student-athletes and orientation leaders lined up to help the newcomers carry boxes, refrigerators, and suitcases into their new residence halls.

University President Rick Trietley emphasized that move-in day is a vital opportunity for Viterbo to make a strong first impression on new students and their families.

“Here at Viterbo University, this concept of community is really important to us,” Trietley said. “We try to build community through relationships. It’s really important for us to make sure that as our new community members arrive, they feel welcome, we’re hospitable, and they feel like they belong to this community.”

According to Viterbo leadership, the university is welcoming 260 new students to its campus community this academic year.
