Danielle Wagner

Danielle Wagner joined the KCRG-TV9 News team in April 2023. She came home to Eastern Iowa after spending nearly eight years as an anchor and reporter at KCRG-TV9's sister station WEAU-TV in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She joined the KCRG-TV9 news team in April 2023 and moved to the anchor desk just a few months later. She anchors KCRG-TV9 News First at Four with Jim Mertens and the KCRG-TV9 News at 5 with Beth Malicki. Danielle also produces Wagner Tails for KCRG-TV9. The weekly segment highlights adoptable pets in the area. It airs each Thursday at Midday and First at Four.

She grew up in Oelwein and graduated from the University of Iowa in 2005 with a degree in journalism and history.

Her broadcast journalism career began at KTVO as a bureau reporter in Ottumwa. Danielle then joined KWWL in Waterloo as a reporter. She spent almost eight years at the station reporting and anchoring the weekend morning news. She then joined WEAU 13 News in June 2015 as a weekend anchor/reporter. She moved into the weekday evening anchor role in January 2017.

Danielle has received honors for reporting and anchoring from the Iowa Broadcast News Association.

Danielle is passionate about pets and promoting pet adoption. She currently has six rescue dogs of her own, and she has promoted pet adoption throughout her career. She started Wagner Tails while at WEAU, and the segment was honored by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for its community impact.

When she isn’t working, Danielle is spending time with her six rescue dogs (Teddy, Missy, Pippy, Alffy, Benny & Winny). She also loves being an auntie to her three nephews and one niece.

She enjoys reading, watching football and binge-watching TV shows.
