Katie anchors Morning Connection at 6:58am weekdays immediately following Hello Wisconsin.
Katie joined WEAU in March 2011 but also had a short stint working at WEAU as a sales intern back in the late 1990's while she attended college at UW-Eau Claire.
Katie is a longtime native of northwestern Wisconsin. She is a graduate of nearby Cumberland High School and went on to graduate from UW-Eau Claire in 1999 with a degree in journalism, with an emphasis in advertising and a minor in marketing. She also worked as a student reporter for the UWEC campus newspaper, "The Spectator" and later in sales at the newspaper's advertising department.
After graduating from college, Katie worked in advertising sales as an account executive at the Oshkosh Northwestern newspaper and later as an account executive at an advertising agency in Oshkosh, WI before eventually making her way back to the Chippewa Valley in 2001 with her husband. Once back in Eau Claire, she started working at BTIO (Baby Think It Over) Educational Products (now called Realityworks, Inc.) as a product marketing specialist before eventually becoming a stay-at-home mom to her four wonderful kids. She began working part-time again at WEAU anchoring Moms Everyday in 2011 and has been here every since!
Katie's four kids keep her busy and she has enjoyed volunteering within her kids' school district teaching Junior Achievement and also through the athletic booster clubs. Her kids are very active in sports, so you can usually find her at one of their football, basketball, or baseball games, or gymnastics meets. In her free-time, Katie is a big music fan (especially classic rock music), enjoys going to concerts & pro sporting events (SKOL Vikings!), and loves being outside--water-skiing and walking their dog, a cockapoo named Rusty. She is happy to call the Chippewa Valley "home" for almost 20 years.
