The primary responsibility of this position is to promote the safety, resilience and healing of youth who have been affected by domestic violence. The person in this position provides counseling and advocacy and facilitates skill building and support groups to youth and their protective parents. This position also provides outreach to other community agencies and potential referral sources.
This position is 40 hours per week and includes some evening hours and occasional on-call weekends and holidays. The Family Support Center provides health insurance, vacation and sick leave benefits.
Minimum degree required is a bachelor’s in social work, psychology, women’s studies or other human services related field. Other important qualifications include knowledge and understanding of domestic violence, previous work with children and adults in crisis, strong communication skills, group facilitation skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
