POSITION:
A full-time university staff position is available in Human Resources, March 2020. The working title for this assignment is HR Coordinator with an official title of Human Resources Assistant. This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary period. The expected hourly hiring salary range for this position starts at $17.00.

Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources or designee, this fulltime position creates and maintains HR records, coordinates logistics for one or many HR functions, disseminates HR communications, and processes various HR specific transactions to ensure compliance with established rules and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstration of:
o Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures such as, but not limited to: Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Worker’s Compensation.
o Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.
o Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
o Exceptional organizational, problem solving, prioritizing, multitasking, and decision-making skills.
o Willingness to develop human resources and HRS knowledge by cross-training with other positions within the human resources area to support co-workers as needed.
o Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusiveness.
• Ability to:
o Maintain confidentiality and integrity of human resources information.
o Maintain a high level of professionalism and quality service in communicating with and working effectively with a diverse variety of internal and external contacts.
o Analyze complex issues and to use discretion in responding to confidential matters.
o Prioritize and meet multiple conflicting deadlines.
o Work independently as well as a member of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post-secondary education in a related field.
• HR related professional certification(s).
• Experience using a human resources information system, such as PeopleSoft.

DUTIES:
• Creates and maintains various HR specific reports, databases, and/or records to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and legal rules and regulations
• Enters, reviews, and processes HR transactions according to established policies and procedures
• Schedules logistics and secures resources for recruitment processes, onboarding activities, payroll functions, and/or other HR related activities
• Serves as a point of contact to employees, managers, and internal and external stakeholders. Responds to inquiries and escalates more complex issues to the appropriate authorities
• Audits and tracks compliance for various HR functions such as performance evaluations, onboarding, off boarding, criminal background checks, and credentialing
• Manages the dissemination of HR related communications to various audiences under the direction of leadership
• Assist the Director of Human Resources or designee, with any other duties as assigned.
