Anthony Acres is a new charter school expected to open Fall of 2020. It's located about halfway between Eau Claire and Mondovi on Highway 37.

The School was being used for a Mondovi 4k program but was shut down about 3 years ago.

Anthony Acres will be a 6-12 environmental charter school set to open in the fall of 2020. The School is located on 34 acres of woods and prairie with Rock Creek running through it.

The school will utilize Project Based and Place Based education for the students at Anthony Acres.

Project Based Learning allows kids to focus on their passions through projects while incorporating the necessary math, science, reading and English standards mandated by the DPI.

Place-based means they will be utilizing the 34 acres and the communities of Eau Claire, Mondovi and other surrounding communities as resources to help enhance their learning.

The students will be partnering with multiple experts from the University, local business owners, and parents to help enhance their learning.

The school is free and open to all students interested in attending.

Applications will be taken through April 30.

The teachers at the School will be Amy Traynor, formally of the Eau Claire School District and Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2013 and Paul Richards, a science teacher in the School District of Mondovi for 18 years.

Open House Events will be held February 12 from 6:30-8 p.m., February 18 from 4:30- 6 p.m., March 12 from 6:30-8 p.m. and April 5 from 2:30-4 p.m.
