CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU)- The Oz Run is a Charity Non-Profit run, a 1/2 Marathon and 5K raising money for Irvine Park and other worthy organizations in the area.

Friday, Tess Morgan, the race director joins us to talk about what’s new this year and where the group will be donating within the community.

In the last 4 years, they have raised more than $36,000, including Irvine Park, Feed My People Food Bank, Wisconsin Veterans Association, Wisconsin Veterans Home at Chippewa Falls, 4-H, and last year the Chippewa Falls Barrier Free Playground.

This year monies raised will go to Irvine Park, but also K-9 Units in the area.

This is the 5th annual Oz Run; and new this year is a Munchkin Mile which will be for the little ones, and in honor of the K-9 Units we are raising money for, we are allowing dogs on the run as long as they are leashed. There will be a separate wave of runners with their furry companions.

The run is Saturday May 26th, Memorial Day Weekend. The 1/2 Marathon starts at 8 a.m. and the 5K waves start at 8:30 a.m. People can register online at www.theOzRun.com or can find them on Facebook as well.
