Northwest Wisconsin has a strong rail history. As a child we had the 400 go through Eau Claire on the way from Chicago to Minneapolis, other lines went north to Barron, Ladysmith, Rice Lake. The rail and lumber industry were/are connected at the hip with trains and train transportation, so trains are an integral part of our Wisconsin history.
Many of us grew up with model trains of every scale. It is alway great to interact with the club members, check out the layouts, and simply having FUN watching the different scales of trains circle the tracks of the layouts that are set up throughout the mall. It is common to see preschool kids to their greatgrandprents checking out the displays.
