Black "Furday" at Coluee Region Humane Society

ONALASKA, Wis. (WEAU) -- Black Friday sales aren’t just for shopping, they’re for adopting!

The Coulee Region Humane Society will be having “Black Furday Cuddlebuster Deals” starting at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23rd. CRHS is nearing max capacity for cats, and have a large amount of black cats. Because of this and in conjunction with Black Friday, CRHS is waiving adoption fees for all black and predominately black cats. CRHS is also discounting all other cat adoption fees to just $10! These promotions will run through Monday, Nov. 26th to encourage adoption.

“We often struggle getting black cats adopted. I think we’re beyond the superstition at this point but we believe that it’s because black cats do not stand out in their kennel to the naked eye when compared to cats of different colors. Black cats are also difficult to photograph because of the way light hits their fur,” says Community Outreach Coordinator, Taylor Bates.

The Coulee Region Humane Society has adopted out over 1,400 animals in 2018 and hopes to increase that number during the last few months of the year. Help the homeless animals in our community find homes!

For more information about the “Black Furday Cuddlebuster Deals,” call the Coulee Region Humane Society at 608-781-4014. People that are planning to adopt are encouraged to bring current pets’ vaccination records, if any, with them to expedite the adoption process.
