GILMANTON, Wis. (WEAU) -- Happy 114th birthday Dr. Seuss! To celebrate his life and legacy grab a book as it also marks Read Across America Day. The annual tradition is meant to motivate and raise awareness in every community to pick up a book and read.

Hello Wisconsin’s Courtney Everett and Tyler Mickelson celebrated early by reading to 4K-4th grade students at Gilmanton Elementary School.

Tyler read one of his favorites, "Oh the Places You Will Go" and Courtney read "The Sneeches" both written by Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss penned and illustrated more than 60 children books, such as Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and The Lorax!

Meteorologist Monica heads to St. James Elementary School to read her favorite weather books to celebrate reading too.
