EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Tis' the season to light up your Christmas tree. Hello Wisconsin gets advice from a local expert in our helpful home tips segment .

Sean Malone of Thomas Leigh Decorators, and a member of the Chippewa Valley Home Builder's Association explains how he decorates a tree. He says its important to start with smaller lights and make your way up and down the tree.

Then, your main lights should be next. Each light strand should be in its own ball, similar to a ball of yarn. It makes it easier to make your way around the tree. He also says to do the middle part of the tree last.
