CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) -- Looking for a new dish to impress your guests during the holidays? Beth Kalata with the Inn On Lake Wissota joined Hello Wisconsin with a delicious idea. The recipe can be found below!
Hidden Serenity B&B
2 TBS soft butter
½ cup pecans, slightly chopped
½ cup dried cranberries or cherries
¼ tsp allspice
¼ cup brown sugar
Salt & Pepper to Taste
3-4 Pears (I like to use firm pears)
Ground Cinnamon for garnish
Combine the first 6 ingredients to prepare filling, this can be done ahead of time, just keep it in the fridge. You can also double and triple the recipe so you have the filling on hand in the fridge, it will keep for several weeks in the fridge.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Wash the pears, cut them in half lengthwise. Using a melon baller, scrape out the middle of the pear, be sure to get the stem core and the blossom end. Scoop out enough in the middle of the pear so it will hold one heaping tablespoon of the filling. Place the pears in a baking dish, fill with one heaping TBS of the filling. Add a small amount of water (I use apple juice), just enough to cover the bottom of the pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes, just long enough to soften them.
Garnish your serving plate(s) with ground cinnamon. Place pear on top, drizzle with Maple Syrup. Serve.
