International Folk Fair kicks off Saturday

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)- Are you ready for one of the largest cultural events in the Chippewa Valley?
The annual International Folk Fair brings together different campus and community groups to share their cultural traditions through food, dance, music, language, art, and much more.

This annual event has been taking place at UW-Eau Claire for over 50 years. This event is free and open to the public.

The groups will sell food and cultural items and all their profits go to the organization or charity of their choice.

Upon entry to the event, visitors receive a "passport". Each room in Davies represents a different culture or country. Travel from room to room and learn about a different culture. You could sample a patatas bravas from Spain, have your name written in traditional Chinese calligraphy, practice origami from Japan, watch a traditional folk dance from featured professional performers from the Twin Cities, and so much more without leaving Davies!

The event runs from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
